Wanhua Chemical recently participated in the Korea Polyurethane Society (KPUS) seminar at Yangyang-gun, Korea. Dr. Boxun Leng, Technical Manager at Wanhua, presented on the company's advancements in sustainable polyurethane solutions, focusing on recycling and environmental impact reduction.
Wanhua Chemical continues to lead the way in developing environmentally-friendly polyurethane products. Dr. Leng detailed Wanhua's progress in developing polyols for rigid polyurethane foams, meeting demands such as high flame retardancy and fast demolding for various applications, including appliances, insulation board, and spray processes.
The recycling initiatives took center stage, showcasing the production of polyethers from waste polyurethane foam and polyesters from recycled PET bottles. Recycling 1 ton of rigid foam can reduce CO2 emissions by 3 tons compared to incineration, and producing 1 ton of polyol from recycled materials saves 300kg of CO2.
Aligned with its mission to "Advance Chemistry, Transform Lives," Wanhua Chemical remains committed to technological innovation and partnering across the value chain to contribute to a greener, more sustainable future!
