Wanhua Chemical Showcases Innovative Material Solutions at Fakuma 2024

On October 15, Fakuma 2024, the international trade fair for plastics, kicked off at the Friedrichshafen Exhibition Center in Germany. Wanhua Chemical participated, showcasing various innovative products and material solutions across various industries, including baby care, consumer goods, automotive, medical, and green low-carbon recycling. We introduced key materials such as PSU/PPSU, PA12, POE, PEBA, XLPE, and PCR.

 

 

PSU/PPSU

We have independently developed Wanafone® PSU/PPSU, a new polysulfone polymer set to be launched soon. These materials offer exceptional heat resistance, high mechanical strength, outstanding hydrolysis, and chemical stability, and can withstand various sterilization methods. They are widely used in baby bottles, cups, medical devices, and food-contact consumer goods. Key applications include the medical and baby care markets, as well as household appliances like coffee machines, sanitary ware, and plumbing fixtures.

 

POE

POE materials demonstrate outstanding performance, with broad application prospects in photovoltaic encapsulation films, automotive modification, cables, and footwear foam. POE-based photovoltaic films provide excellent water vapor barrier properties, weather resistance, superior transparency, and strong PID resistance, enhancing module efficiency and reliability while extending their lifespan. Additionally, POE’s light weight and compatibility with PP make it a key modifier in automotive parts, including bumpers, airbags, and sound insulation mats.

 

PA12

Leveraging our integrated industrial platform, Wanhua has mastered the entire PA12 value chain, from CDON (cyclododecanone), CDOL (cyclododecanol), LL, nylon 12 resin, modified nylon 12, and nylon 12 elastomers. With this full production capability, Wanhamid® PA12 offers low density, excellent low-temperature toughness, impact resistance, and chemical resistance, along with a stable supply. These properties make it ideal for expanding material choices in sectors such as electric vehicles, subsea cables, and additive manufacturing, driving high-quality development in advanced industries.

 

TPU

Our high-performance aliphatic TPU film solutions offer excellent transparency, resistance to thermal aging, and long-term UV aging, providing comprehensive protection for automotive surfaces. In the footwear industry, TPU is ideal for textile uppers, foamed midsoles, and outsoles due to its non-yellowing, low-density, and high-rebound properties, contributing to the sustainable development of the footwear sector. TPU also excels in cable applications, offering excellent mechanical strength and aging performance, solving issues like bending, low-temperature cracking, and aging in charging pile cables.

 

PMMA

With its integrated supply chain advantage, Wanhua Chemical offers optical-grade PMMA, which features high transparency (≥92% light transmittance), excellent weather resistance, and superior performance in scratch resistance, high gloss, and hardness. PMMA is widely used in automotive, lighting, home furnishing, and medical applications, providing customers with more stable, high-quality products.

 

PEBA

WANELITE® PEBA elastomers are known for their ultra-low density and a combination of elasticity and strength. PEBA offers excellent torsion control and minimal modulus change under stress, making it the leading material for long-shaft medical catheters. Its easy processability, low water absorption, and flexibility at low temperatures also make it suitable for high-end sports footwear, sporting equipment, electronics, industrial applications, and medical products.

 

XLPE

With our C2 industrial chain advantage and stable, integrated production platform, we offer high-performance XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) materials. These products boast ultra-high purity, excellent thermal stability, outstanding crosslinking ability, and long-term scorch resistance, making them ideal for ultra-high-voltage cables, marine cables, and specialty cables.

 

PCR
