On July 29, the 2026 Bajiaowan Innovation Conference kicked off in Yantai, China. Hosted by Peking University and the Yantai municipal government, and co-organized by Wanhua Chemical Group, PKU’s School of Materials Science, and several state key laboratories, the event drew over a dozen academicians from top institutions, alongside provincial and municipal officials and industry leaders.
The conference featured 12 parallel sessions covering inorganic/metallic materials, composites, optical polymers, biomanufacturing, AI, energy materials, and more. Over 800 experts and representatives from universities, research institutes, and enterprises attended, sharing the latest findings through keynote speeches and presentations.
Since its launch in 2023, the annual conference has grown into a flagship platform bridging academic frontiers and industrial applications, regularly attracting nearly 1,000 participants. This edition aims to foster deeper integration of government, academia, and industry, align R&D with market demands, and drive transformation in the new chemical materials sector.
