The Gold medal status conferred by EcoVadis not only recognizes Wanhua’s sustainable development, but also highlights Wanhua's commitment to boosting sustainable development and creating a sustainable win-win ecosystem. Wanhua Chemical will continue to explore new possibilities and improve its ability to develop sustainably in the future. Wanhua’s corporate mission “Advancing Chemistry, Transforming Lives” will be achieved through the company's excellent performance in sustainable development.
Launched in France, EcoVadis assessment was jointly established by several NGOs including TFS-CI (“Together for Sustainability”-Chemical Initiative), UN Global Compact, and IPE (Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs) as a platform dedicated to downstream international supply management organizations. It has incorporated all aspects of corporate governance during corporate operations except quality, and carries out comprehensive assessments on an enterprise based on its scale and particular industry, in the form of online material submission. The assessment system primarily focuses on five elements of an enterprise, namely, overall status, environment, labor and human rights, business ethics, and sustainable procurement. EcoVadis recognition provides a cooperative platform for customers and suppliers, to assist enterprises in assessing the environment and social performance of suppliers worldwide, covering over 150 business areas across over 120 countries.
