On April 6, Wanhua Chemical, Suez and Shanghai Civil Engineering officially signed the Shandong Yantai Penglai seawater desalination cooperation project in Beijing. The project is the largest desalination project of Suez in the world industrial field, and also the first desalination project in China. This move is a recognition of Wanhua Chemical's strength and achievements, and further expand the cooperation between the two parties in the field of environmental protection.
Wanhua Chemical has been making effort in the sustainable development field for many years relying on its continuously innovative technology. During the period from 2017 to 2022, there have been four key cooperation projects with Suez. This time, Suez will design and build a high industrial reverse osmosis desalination plant with a daily freshwater production capacity of 100,000 tons, which will help achieve our goals of sustainable development by saving scarce freshwater resources and enhancing the resilience of the local water ecology.
