Wanhua Chemical Introduces Carfil® UV35 Resin

When we say sun protection, what exactly is the protection against? In fact, it is not the dazzling sunlight we see but the invisible UV rays.
According to the wavelength, UV rays can be divided into three types: long wave UVA (wavelength 320 ~ 420 nm), medium wave UVB (wavelength 290 ~ 320 nm) and short wave UVC (wavelength 200 ~ 290 nm). UVA and UVB are what really hurt the skin as shortwave UVC can mostly be absorbed by oxygen and ozone molecules in the stratosphere and does not reach the earth's surface.

• UVA, with strong penetrability, reaches the dermis directly, destroys elastic fibers and collagen fibers, tanning, aging and spotting the skin, and has the same strength throughout the year
• UVB, causes sunburn, ages and hardens the skin to varying degrees, and can  cause skin cancer in severe cases

 
Common sun protection methods include using parasols, wearing UV protective clothing as well as applying sunscreen cream. We can see SPF and PA numbers on most of sunscreen cream bottles.  

• SPF, or sun protection factor, generally ranged from 15 ~ 50, mainly measures the UVB resistance index, which basically means how well a sunscreen will protect skin from UVB rays. For example, in the absence of any sun protection measures, the skin will be sunburned within 20 minutes. When applying SPF15 sun protection products, it will take 300 minutes (20x15) to get sunburned.
• PA stands for protection grade for UVA. PA+ signifies the product as having protection efficacy. PA++ and PA+++ indicate stronger protection efficacies.  In general, the higher the SPF value, the higher the PA value, the longer the protection time.

 
The effective component of sunscreen cream is sunscreen agent.
Wanhua Chemical Carfil^® UV35 resin, as an SPF synergist, can spread sunscreen agents more evenly on the skin and reach the same SPF value with fewer sunscreen agents. By reducing the amount of sunscreen cream needed, customers can enjoy the ultra-light freshness easily.
The SPF value from SGS's human testing confirmed that only 2% of the effective content of Carfil^®UV35 can increase the SPF of sunscreen cream from 15 to 30, and the SPF value remains high up to 24 after 240 minutes.
In addition, Carfil^® UV35 can also effectively increase the water resistance of sunscreen cream, thus achieving a long-term SPF value and reducing the times of makeup retouch for people who sweat more.
